Nate Diaz might be ready to fight again at UFC 222

After it was reported that Max Holloway had withdrawn from his bout against Frankie Edgar due to a leg injury, the world was left wondering what would come of the nights main event. Now, six weeks away from the event, suggestions are flying that Nate Diaz fill the empty spot on the card.

LA Times journalist Lance Pugmire, took to Twitter to break the news some exciting news. Nate Diaz may be interested in taking a bout at UFC 222. On Sunday Pugmire he posted:

“The best option to fill in for the @BlessedMMA void at #UFC222 is @NateDiaz209 and he tells me he’s ???? interested…. make it happen @ufc”

Eddie Alvarez, Kevin Lee and Cub Swanson are among some who have offered to face Diaz upon his return. However, it appears that Diaz’s self-worth may stand in the way of making that happen. The UFC previously tried to make a matchup between Diaz and Tyron Woodley last year. But Diaz declined the fight because the money wasn’t right. Diaz has previously stated that if faced McGregor for a trilogy bout he would expect a minimum $20 million purse. If Diaz is to take this fight at such short notice you can be sure he will be earning big bucks.
